Use This Little Tennis Ball Trick to Help Parking Become Easier
Everything in life can be difficult. On a day to day basis, you don’t know what aspect of your life can give you issues. It could be your car, your phone, your computer or anything else. That is why it is a good idea to have little hacks and tricks that can make your day a little bit easier.
One of these aspects of your life that can give you issues, which you never think about until they’re happening to you, is parking. Especially parking in a garage. If you drive even a relatively big vehicle or have a smaller garage, you know how many close calls you can encounter on a regular basis.
However, if you want to avoid these close calls in your garage, there is a simple DIY trick you can use to help you park with perfection in your garage, every single time. All you need is a tennis ball, a drill, a study cord, some fishing weights and a hook.
The first thing to do is cut a narrow hole through the ball and make sure it goes the whole way through. Next, take the cord (without cutting it) and run it through the ball, making sure it goes all the way through to the other side of the ball. Then, make sure the cord has a knot in it so it won’t slide back through the ball.
The ball should hang straight down, but if it doesn’t for some reason, use the fishing weights to hang on the ball as well. Then it is your job to figure out how much cord you need to use. The best and most common way to do this is getting just enough cord so the tennis ball will gently hit the back windshield while you are backing up.
Once the length of cord is determined, tie it into place on the hook I mentioned earlier and you’re all done. You now will be able to both see and feel when you are in the perfect place to park. This will also save you from those ugly skids on the side of your car or bent and damaged mirrors.
