This Story About a Baby Swap is Straight Out of Hollywood

The role of a nurse is not an easy one. These women and men are in charge oh so much at a hospital and should get more respect than they normally do.

 These nurses are usually insanely well trained and thus, are very good at their job. But the insane story you are about to ready features a nurse who made one of the biggest mistakes a nurse could ever make.

In 1994, an 18-year-old French woman named Sophie Serrano. Her baby was born with jaundice, so she was taken to an incubator in a room with other babies with jaundice. Unfortunately, Sophie didn’t know that the nurse who had just taken her baby was intoxicated and was an alcoholic.

But then what happened next was unbelievable. It turned out that the nurse had accidentally swapped Sophie’s baby with another in the adjacent incubator. Sophie had a feeling something wasn’t right, due to the baby’s skin being a tad darker than she remembered, but just brushed it off.

Eventually, Sophie took the baby home and named it Manon. Around a decade passed, and the two had a wonderful mother-daughter relationship, but the apparent father of the child wasn’t too happy. Because the child didn’t look anything like him, he accused Sophie of having an affair.

And after the relationship ended, the two went to get a DNA test for their daughter and found out the chilling truth. Neither she or her ex-husband were the parents of this child. So now her mind began to race with all the possibilities this could lead to.

Authorities began to piece the puzzle together what happened and eventually found her real, biological daughter living with her family far away on an island in the Indian Ocean. Despite meeting each other, the families stopped doing so as it became too mentally difficult. Neither of the daughters requested to be given back to their biological families.

After all of this, Sophie was not in a good spot. She booked herself into a psychiatric hospital where she remained until she was mentally well again. After getting out, things began to go back to normal, she found a new man, and had more kids and currently all live in the south of France together, as happy as can be.
