You Won’t Believe The Reason This Officer Was Pulling Random People Over For
It seems that the police officers are in the limelight lately for many different reasons. Many feel the police are corrupt and shooting innocent people. Others believe that police officers are doing their jobs. There have been both officers and civilians murdered, and riots in the once quiet streets of small towns. Regardless of what people think, the truth is, everyone is watching every police officer’s moves.
Many officers have stated they feel hated now, and that even those who have nothing negative on their record are not able to walk down the street without feeling hateful glares from others. Many people from all different backgrounds have been torn apart in the police debate, and it seems to be getting more heated every day.
One police officer was tired of this entire debacle and decided to do something about it. When Officer Brian Warner began pulling people over for seemingly no reason in Halifax, Virginia, people started to get very confused. But the passengers being pulled over were in for a big surprise.
Officer Brian pulled people over in a similar manner for a routine traffic stop. But then what he did next will shock those getting pulled over. When they thought they were going to get a ticket, they got something much colder, and tastier, instead! Instead of giving a ticket, he gave the passengers ice cream!
The police chief, Kevin Lands, also joined in after brainstorming ideas to connect with the community. They were looking for a way that they could show a different, more humanized side to police officers that people might see as evil. At first, when pulling people over, he told them they were in violation of police code 1.7.3.9. This scared the passengers, making them think they might be getting a ticket.
But police code 1.7.3.9. Is not what you think it is. Officer Brian told them that all it was was a violation of driving on a hot day without an ice cream cone! He then proceeds to hand everyone an ice cream cone to make sure they’re following police orders!
Everyone that ran into Brian that day instantly burst out laughing once they realized what was happening. Their terrified expression and fear of getting a ticket quickly turned into a bright smile once they figured out they were not getting a ticket that day. Going from possible getting a ticket to getting a free ice cream cone from a cop isn’t something that people thought would happen!
It is illegal to pull people over for no reason, even if it is to give them ice cream, so the officers only pulled over people who made minor traffic violations. Technically officer Brian could have given them a ticket, but chose instead to brighten their day with some ice cream!
What those officers did that day was only from the kindness of their heart. It was a choice they made to show the good in police and connect with civilians in their family. If only all officers could give away ice cream instead of tickets!
