Watch: ‘The Disaster Artist’ Trailer for the ‘Worst Movie Ever Made’
In 2003, what many consider the “worst movie ever made” was released. The Room has since amassed a cult following — and now the making of the film has been turned into a major motion picture that takes us behind the scenes of the on-set troubles.
On Tuesday, New Line Cinema released the first trailer for The Disaster Artist, which chronicles the making of Tommy Wiseau’s The Room. James Franco stars as Wiseau, a San Francisco banker whose fiancée is cheating on him with his best friend, Mark. Along for this “disaster” are Seth Rogen, Dave Franco, Alison Brie, Lizzy Caplan, Zac Efron, Bryan Cranston, Kristen Bell, Zoey Deutch, Sharon Stone, Adam Scott, and Judd Apatow in the all-star cast.
James Franco is also stepping behind the camera as director.
The Room‘s original synopsis reads:
“Johnny is a successful banker who lives happily in a San Francisco townhouse with his fiancée, Lisa. One day, inexplicably, she gets bored with him and decides to seduce his best friend, Mark. From there, nothing will be the same again.”
The Disaster Artist hits theaters December 8. The Room is probably in a $.99 bin in Walmart stores nationwide. Watch the trailer below.
