With less than two weeks to go before the premiere of season eight of The Walking Dead, AMC released a new sneak peak of the hit series at this year’s New York Comic Con.

The clip finds Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) on a supply run. The character stumbles upon several abandoned cars, some with dead bodies inside, before he begins hearing an unknown voice speaking to him. The voice begs for his help, but the clip cuts off before showing who the voice belongs to, or if it’s a previously introduced character.

As usual with The Walking Dead, internet speculation seems to have identified the mystery character, but nothing has been confirmed.

The synopsis for the season’s premiere episode, “Mercy,” sheds no light on the clip. It simply reads:

“Rick and his group, along with the Kingdom and Hilltop, band together to bring the fight to Negan and the Saviors.”

The eighth season of The Walking Dead is scheduled to premiere on October 22.
