The first trailer for Stranger Things season two is here to thrill fans of the Netflix sci-fi hit.
Following up on the first season’s unexpected success, Netflix debuted the new Stranger Things trailer at the pop culture mecca known as San Diego Comic-Con last weekend before releasing the clip online.
The 3:00 minute clip is packed with all the elements that made the first season such a runaway success, from the horrors of the upside down dimension and shadowy government agencies to 1980s cultural touchstones like classic arcade games and Ghostbusters costumes, all set to Michael Jackson’s song “Thriller.”
The official plot synopsis for the season reads:
It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana, are still reeling from the horrors of the demagorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.
Stranger Things season two features returning stars Millie Bobbie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Natalia Dyer, David Harbour, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, and Joe Keery, as well as newcomers to the series Paul Reiser, Sean Astin, Will Chase and Brett Gelman. It’s scheduled to premiere on October 27.
