Following Tumultuous Divorce, Bethenny Frankel Talks Helping Women in Crisis on ‘RHONY’ Reunion
Bethenny Frankel is the founder of Skinnygirl cocktails (reportedly worth over $100 million) and the hilarious voice of reason amidst the often absurd antics of The Real Housewives of New York. The show’s Season 9 second reunion episode aired Wednesday night — and amidst all of the Wives’ fodder, Frankel found time to talk about her B Strong campaign for women in crisis.
The self-made-millionaire’s tumultuous divorce from husband Jason Hoppy has made headlines in recent years. The pair share a 7-year-old daughter, Bryn.
On last night’s RHONY reunion episode, Frankel brought up the “torture” she endured which inspired her to create this foundation.
Frankel filed for divorce after two and a half years after marrying Hoppy; the divorce was finalized in July 2016, four years later. Since then, Hoppy has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of stalking and harassment.
She described the mission of B Strong in an interview with Access Hollywood, stating, “It’s to help women in crisis with legal advice, with life coaching… people who are at a crossroads at dire streets, people who are being abused, or broke, and can’t even get off of the couch to get their life together… I’m so excited to use all of this great fortune to help women.”
Frankel partnered with the nonprofit Dress for Success earlier this year to launch B Strong. Further information about the charity initiative and how to get involved can be found here.
