You Won’t Believe What China Built To Combat Traffic Issues
Traffic can be the worst sometimes. It can cause you to be late for work, and it’s just downright boring to have to sit in for hours at a time. If you live in a big city, you especially know this to be true. In China, a place with some of the largest populations, traffic can be an absolute nightmare. Sometimes when you’re sitting in traffic bored, you just wish you could fly right over all the cars built up, kind of like in the bus pictured below.
Well, China was actually able to build this bus.
It seems crazy at first, and full of issues that could be potentially fatal for riders or drivers below. But just a few short months after proposing the idea, engineers were able to actually build the bus. It seems like it would take a ton of time to build, and to test, as there are many safety laws to be sure to follow. But the idea was proposed in just this May of 2016!
The idea came from Jinchuang Corp who pitched the idea at The 19th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo. They said it could be ready by august, and it was.
The bus is incredible and solves many of China’s traffic issues all at once. It offers a way to bypass all of the insane traffic, while also providing a larger, more easily accessible piece of public transit. It truly is something out of a futuristic movie.
It’s not just for driving over small cars either, there’s plenty of space for it to be able to drive over cars as tall as seven feet. The bus is seventy-two feet long and twenty-five feet wide, large enough to hold hundreds of people. If you’ve ever ridden a bus in the city, you know that during rush hour the buses can be swarmed with people, and still can hold many commuters at once. This bus travels the same route and speed as regular buses, meaning it’s able to carry a massive amount of people home at once.
The bus can carry 300 people at once, actually! That not only is an incredible amount of people, but it virtually takes up no space! It uses a small set of tracks on either side of the road. It’s not like a train that would need its own lane, rather, the bus works itself around other lanes!
The bus almost sounds too good to be true. But it’s not. It’s even better for the environment! Not only does it cut down on the amount of pollution potential busses on the streets, but it also runs on solar electricity! The busses are in development to spread all across China! A proposed plan states that having enough buses made for all of China will only take about a year to make!
The future is now, and technology like this is nothing less than incredible. Hopefully, soon, these busses will be available in large cities not just in china, but all over the world! Inventions like this are what could change how our world works both financially, environmentally, and for the better.
