Teacher Chops Off Over A Foot Of Her Extremely Long Hair For A Good Cause
A teacher’s life is always challenging; there’s preparing for lessons, taking care of the children, marking, keeping up with educational developments and much more. But for one Indian teacher, there was also the question of keeping her incredibly long hair in a manageable state.
Like many people, she probably thought about getting a new look and then decided that she didn’t have the time or patience for it. Yet, when the opportunity arose to do something about her personal style and help out other people in need – our teacher felt she had to take action.
You’d be amazed to know that Indian teachers can get access to a personal stylist and that’s just what she did. She called up a personal stylist to visit her in her home and take care of the last foot or so of her hair.
While getting your hair chopped, particularly when so much care and attention has gone into making it long, can be a traumatic experience for many – there wasn’t so much as a blink from our teacher as the stylist took the shears to her locks. Of course, it might help that there was plenty left over once the cut was done as well as the fact that she had given a hand to someone in need.
Her daily routine involves weaving the strands into a bun or sometimes a knot. Of course, when you’re teaching in a classroom of unruly children; it pays to keep long hair out of reach and in an easily manageable style. Really long hair can be a bit of a nightmare to brush out the tangles from at the best of times and in the middle of a lesson can hardly qualify as “the best of times”.
Her hair care regime must be incredible as when it’s let loose in all its glory; there’s barely a split end. In fact, it just looks long, lustrous and incredibly well maintained.
The stylist was an incredibly patient person as he worked his brush through her hair over and over again to ensure it was in perfect condition before he wielded his scissors. We’re wondering how long it takes her on a daily basis to keep her hair under control after that.
Once the hair was thoroughly brushed, the stylist had to ensure that it was ready for cutting. That meant using a band to secure the bulk of the hair and then creating three braids that also make it easier to collect their hair so that it can be donated after the cut has finished.
Then the final step – pre-cut – is to measure the woman’s hair and the stylist finds that he’s about to cut off one and a half feet of hair! The hair will then be used to make a wig for somebody by the charity.
The cut itself is quick and brutal – a single snip and the braid is gone and on its way to a good cause.
