This Tangled Replica Is One of the Best Disney Creations Ever
Arguably one of the biggest hits that Disney has put out over the last few years is none other than Tangled. This Disney movie tells the famous story of Rapunzel and in typically Disney fashion, it did extremely well. And other than the luscious locks of rapunzel and the character herself, one of the most iconic things from the show was the wonderfully beautiful tower of Rapunzel.
And like any other popular Disney movie, this film enticed and inspired people to get creative. Whether it be dressing up as the characters for Halloween or acting out scenes from the film, Disney movies just seem to inspire creativity out of their fans in a number of different ways. But the creation I am about to show you took some seriously hard work and is one of the coolest Disney-inspired creations I have seen.
An avid DIY-er and big Disney fan decided that she was going to recreate the famous tower of Rapunzel. And if you have seen the show, you know just how detailed the tower is and how difficult of a project this would be. But that didn’t matter to this DIY-er, she was going to do it and she didn’t only do it, she did it fantastically.
The way she would do it by something called quilling, which is folding, gluing, rolling and shaping strips of tissue paper to create extravagant and creative designs or structures. Of course, before any building or creating was actually done, she needed to draw an outline and plan out her project. This would walk her through her creations and make sure she doesn’t forget anything.
After that way done, she began on the outer walls, using yellow paper for those. She then would lay out the pieces onto her outlined layout to make sure everything was in order. After finishing the fairly simple walls, she began to get into slightly more confusing and time-consuming pieces like the doors and windows.
With those complete, she moved up to the tiles and tower tops (which I may add, are extremely cool looking). Now, only a few finishing touches like some vines and other additions stood between her and a finished product. After wetting the yellow paper to give a brownish tinge took place, her replica tower was complete and it was great.
And as you can see, it is a breathtaking piece of art that, if you saw from afar, would never guess was built using nothing but tissue paper and a whole lot of creativity. It also looks like it was made of clay, plaster or some other (more solid) material. This crafter is truly a special talent.
While everything on and about the castle is beautiful, what really makes this piece so amazing is the artist’s attention to even the tiniest of details. From the stain glass windows to the tiny little door knockers, no details were spared. This creation just goes to show that even with the most basic of supplies, you too can create a wonderful piece of art.
