Pierce Brosnan ate rat
Pierce Brosnan was "sick for a week" after eating rat.
The 63-year-old actor mistakenly chomped on the skin of a rodent while working in Nigeria because he thought he’d been offered beef and was left feeling ill for some time afterwards.
He said: "[The worst thing I’ve put in my mouth] is rat. I was in Nigeria making a movie called ‘Mister Johnson’ and we went into town one night and there were these delicacies on a stick.
"I thought it was beef, but it was rat skin. I was sick for a week."
The ‘Son’ actor had a hidden talent for baking bread, but it isn’t something he’s done for a while.
He said: "I used to bake bread – I was a good baker of soda bread – but I haven’t picked up a pot in a long time."
Despite his own fame, Pierce was left starstruck when he met legendary actor Robert De Niro.
Asked when he was most starstruck, he recalled: "It was at the ‘Night of 100 Stars 2’ at Radio City [in 1985] and I met Robert De Niro.
"We were waiting to go on stage and I got to shake his hand and tell him how much I appreciated his work.
"I met him again recently and once more told him how much I thought of him as an actor and as a dude."
The former James Bond star has been left with a scarred face following a mishap during a fight scene.
He said: "I have a scar on my face from ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’. It was a fight scene and some guy with a helmet snapped his head back and sliced my face open.
"There’s another on my forehead which I have from tidal boarding here in Malibu."
