Miranda Kerr and Evan Spiegel’s chic engagement party
Miranda Kerr and Evan Spiegel were "very affectionate" at the engagement party.
The 33-year-old model and the co-founder of Snapchat, 26, celebrated their impending marriage at a "classy and chic" party at the Hotel Bel-Air on Saturday evening (11.05.16) surrounded by their close family and friends.
A source told E! News: "It was filled with close family and friends and the couple seemed really happy and in love.
"Miranda and Evan were very affectionate throughout the party. Everyone was celebrating and having a great time. Miranda and Evan get along with each other’s friends perfectly."
The pair are set to tie the knot in 2017 and Miranda – who has five-year-old son Flynn with her ex-husband Orlando Bloom – previously opened up about the proposal, admitting it was a total surprise.
She said: "[Was I expecting it?] Absolutely not. He said to me, ‘Miranda, I’m telling you now, this is the first and last time I’m going to kneel down in front of you.’ I was terribly nervous and emotional, trembling with happiness."
And Evan is really close with Flynn now but Miranda admits she was initially a bit nervous about introducing him to her son.
She shared: "They adore each other. At first I was very careful as I wanted to be certain our relationship was serious. Now I love to watch them playing together."
Miranda has a close bond with Evan and they share a number of "common values like a sense of loyalty, family and honesty" and she can always rely on him for advice.
She explained: "Evan is real homebody like me. We have little dinner parties for our friends – he loves my cooking. Both of us are quite conservative even though we come from different worlds. But we have common values, a sense of loyalty, family and honesty. I tend to trust other people more easily. Evan is more guarded and reserved. It’s a good balance.
"We spend hours talking about everything. He listens to me and he understands me. He works very hard and he’s proud that I’ve started my own business. He gives me tons of advice. He’s my soulmate."
