Melissa McCarthy: I’m a perfectionist
Melissa McCarthy is a perfectionist.
The ‘Bridesmaids’ star always has to keep picking away at everything she does because she won’t settle for second best, whether she’s acting, writing or running her plus-sized clothing line.
Asked if she does a good job at being a boss, she told Irish Tatler magazine: "Hopefully I am good at being a boss. I think I expect a lot from people but I also have a lot of amazing people around me that are always surprising me and always pushing my expectations. I think we all push each other pretty hard.
"I think I am lucky enough to be surrounded by people that aren’t like, ‘Oh, that’s good enough’. None of us think that way. Whether it be in my clothing line, or if I am writing or even if I am acting something, I have a constant need to re-evaluate. I am always a fiddler and I keep thinking ‘I like this, could I love it?’ I can’t stop picking at it."
Meanwhile, Melissa previously revealed she loves all of her "flaws".
She said: "I feel sexiest when I feel comfortable, when I feel most myself, when I’m not trying to be anything other than who I am. [I love] all of it: my flaws, my shortcomings, my body parts that you’re like, ‘Well, couldn’t that be better?’ I think, especially after having kids, I go, ‘Well, the alternative is pretty bad. I’ll take me as I am.’ …
"I know I am not the ‘norm.’ It never occurs to me in terms of being a role model, though, because I don’t know any perfect women. If I, off the top of my head, name 20 of the most amazing women in my life, it’s all shapes, sizes, ages, colours, jobs."
