Mel B posts tribute to her husband, her ‘baby boo forever’
Mel B has posted a heartfelt tribute to her husband describing him as her "baby boo".
The 41-year-old Spice Girl married her husband Stephen Belafonte – with whom she has five-year-old daughter Madison – in June 2007, and she took to Instagram on Tuesday (09.06.16) to declare her love for him almost 10 years together and tell her followers he still makes her "heart beat fast".
Along with a photograph of her kissing him on the cheek, she posted the caption: "Boom Nearly 10 years strong and he still makes my heart beat fast and takes my breath away, my baby boo forever#myheartandsoul #rideordie #wenocrazy#noonecantouchus #theytried#noonelikeyou (sic)."
The former ‘America’s Got Talent’ judge – who also has two daughters, 15-year-old Phoenix Chi, and Angel, seven, from her marriage to Jimmy Gulzar and fling with Eddie Murphy respectively -met her film producer husband, also 41, on the set of a film called ‘Talk’, and they were friends for years before embarking on a romantic relationship.
Speaking previously about her spouse, the ‘Wannabe’ hitmaker said: "Stephen and I never had a romantic relationship in all those years, so it was quite a shock when it happened. One night, we’d been out and he just kissed me. I thought, what was that?"
The pair tied the knot after just four months of dating, and Stephen – who also has a daughter, Giselle, from a previous relationship – insisted that he had "never connected" with someone the way that he did with Mel, and that knowing her as a friend beforehand had made the dating process easier.
He said: "I’d never connected with someone on so many levels and, after a while, it just lined up. Knowing each other so intimately already meant all our cards were on the table. She knew all my crazy s**t, and I had her full story. That’s been an amazing base for us. I’ve never had that before."
