Leigh-Anne Pinnock burns legs before American gig
Little Mix were forced to perform as a trio at their gig in California on Thursday night (03.30.17) after Leigh-Anne Pinnock accidentally burnt her legs backstage.
The ‘Shout Out to My Ex’ hitmakers – also comprised of Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall – took to the stage at the Honda Centre in Anaheim, where they were supporting Ariana Grande on her tour, without the frizzy-haired babe after she scorched her thighs with hair steamers just minutes before they were due to perform their set.
A source told the MailOnline: "Leigh-Anne burnt her legs backstage on her steamer. She will be fine and is soldiering on."
But, despite the painful injury, the 25-year-old singer didn’t want to let her fans down and rejoined her band for one song at the end with her legs in white bandages.
And fans were clearly thrilled to see her as they took to their social networking site to praise Leigh-Anne on having the determination to get up on stage, despite her injury.
One user, who goes by the handle mixersUnitePH, uploaded a photo of Leigh-Anne on stage with her thighs wrapped in bandages and accompanied it with the caption: "We #Mixers know our Lei got burned today but still performed..we [heart] you (sic)."
The band have another show on Friday (31.03.17) at The Forum in Los Angeles but it’s not yet known whether Leigh-Anne will be well enough to join them for the gig tonight.
However, they then have two days off before they hit the road continuously until June.
The foursome – who won ‘The X Factor’ in 2011 – aren’t expected back in their native the UK until the end of June and it seems like the girls are already missing home.
Perrie took to her Instagram account last week to gush about how much she’s missing her boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, whom she’s been dating since late last year.
The 23-year-old star, who was previously engaged to former One Direction singer Zayn Malik, wrote alongside the cute snap of the pair: "Apologies for this extra af, cheese on toast post…. But s**t I miss him toooo much! @alexoxchamberlain (sic)"
The celebrity duo were initially coy about their blossoming romance, but have seemingly become more comfortable with the attention in recent weeks as Perrie had no problem describing the Arsenal soccer star as "cute" and "sexy" during an interview.
