Who Knew Wine Bottles Could Create Such a Beautiful Piece of Art
Who doesn’t love wine? Let’s be honest, it is the perfect drink for a classy dinner or to relax after a long day. It is enjoyed by people all over the world and most of us have at least a few old wine bottles laying around. And as if we needed another reason to buy and drink wine, this DIY expert created a brilliant piece of furniture with wine bottles as the star of the show.
And while you could probably go out and buy something creative like this, there is something super satisfying about taking on a project like this on your own and making it yourself. The possibilities of DIY projects are endless, but this is definitely one of the coolest I have ever seen.
Read on to see and read how this DIY homeowner was able to take a few empty wine bottles and create a gorgeous lamp. Hopefully, this creation will give you some inspiration to use something that you have just laying around and create something gorgeous out of it.
After enjoying some wine over the years and accumulating quite the collection of bottles, the creative mind of this DIY-er began to run wild and he scoured the internet for some cool project he could undertake. Unfortunately, his search far and wide returned no results as he didn’t find anything that he found interesting.
With no help from the internet, he soon came up with an idea of his own, and that was to use a couple empty bottles from his always-growing collection and create an amazing standing floor lamp. It would be a tedious project, but the end result would be worth it.
First, he needed a base and that was easily created by using a rotary tool to cut a few pieces of wood that would soon form the base for the lamp. After the base was completed and the hole for the lamp pole was perfectly crafted, he was ready for the wine bottles.
But before adding them to the creation, he had to make some adjustments to them. The first adjustment was to cut off the bases of the wine bottles so they could fit and stack easier, and then he used some soap, water, and Goo Gone to remove the labels from the bottles.
Once they were clean and cut, the wine bottles were used as a “lead up” to the next level and so on and so forth. Think of it taking the shape of a tiered wedding cake, except made out of wine bottles, wood, and a copper pole. After completing the tower, only a few cosmetic fixes were needed.
After staining the wood, shining the copper pole and making sure everything was stable as could be, his brilliant new lamp was ready for his living room. Even if you aren’t a wine drinker, you can’t help but appreciate the creativity that went into making this piece. And hopefully, this has inspired you to do something other than just recycle your old wine bottles.
