Johnny Depp’s lawyer blasts Amber’s claims
Johnny Depp’s lawyer has accused Amber Heard of alleging abuse in order to secure a financial settlement.
Johnny has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from his estranged wife Amber, 30, after she filed for a restraining order amid allegations the ‘Black Mass’ actor physically abused her but his lawyer insisted the abuse claims are an attempt by Amber to get money from Johnny.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Laura Wasser, who represents Johnny, 52, said in court documents: "Amber is attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse."
Amber asked for spousal support after filing for divorce from Johnny earlier this week but he asked the judge not to allow it.
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star – who is estimated to be worth around $400 million – is said to have rejected Amber’s claim for spousal support.
The pair are not thought to have put a pre-nuptial agreement in place before they wed in February 2015 in Los Angeles, followed by another ceremony in the Bahamas.
Meanwhile, Amber has claimed she is living in fear of Johnny Depp and said in a written declaration to the court that she had "endured excessive emotional, verbal and physical abuse" during their 15-month marriage.
Variety reports that Amber wrote: "During the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me. I endured excessive emotional, verbal and physical abuse from Johnny, which has included angry, hostile, humiliating and threatening assaults to me whenever I questioned his authority or disagreed with him.
"I live in fear that Johnny will return to (our house) unannounced to terrorize me, physically and emotionally."
The former couple met on the set of 2011 film ‘The Rum Diary’.
Johnny previously divorced his first wife, make-up artist Lori Anne Allison, in 1985 after just two years of marriage and he split from French actress partner Vanessa Paradis – who he has daughter Lily-Rose, 16, and 13-year-old son Jack with – in 2012 after 14 years together.
Amber was in a three-year relationship with girlfriend Tasya van Ree until 2011.
