It was one of Hollywood’s biggest hits of 2017. The horror film, based on a novel by Stephen King, grossed over $700 million worldwide and received praise from critics and horror fans alike.
One of the film’s standout sequences is the opening, where the despicable clown Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård) lures a young boy (Georgie, played by Jackson Robert Scott) to a sewer grate, only to rip his arm off, drag him down, and murder him. The iconic scene not only set the stage for the rest of the film, but it also became fodder for numerous memes and other jokes.

It seems that the makers of It could see the potential comedic value of the scene, as they’ve recently released an “alternate” joke opening. In this version, Georgie reaches into the grate and grabs his paper boat right from Pennywise’s hand, much to the clown’s dismay. All he can utter in response? A dejected “Oh s**t.”
