Over the recent few years, we have seen more and more examples of people who are fed up with their regular and boring lives with their 9-5 jobs. While some of these people quit and take on new and exciting jobs, more and more people are electing to quit the jobs, only to travel across the world, country or wherever they choose.
One such couple that had these amazing travel goals and was sick of their lives were Indestructibles user Court and his fiance, Jess. The two of them have been craving adventure for quite a while and, over time, saved up enough money to buy a Sprinter van. But the van enough wasn’t suitable for their cross country travel dreams, so they had to make a few major adjustments.
They decided they would remodel this older van into a brand new and creative home on wheels, that could be perfectly suited for their travel needs. Their travel needs were simple, they needed a mobile home that could support their six-month travel journey across the USA. However, buying a motorhome these days can often run you tens of thousands of dollars, so they had a better idea.
With a few major changes (and a couple smaller ones too), these two were able to brilliantly transform an old Sprinter van into an oasis on wheels for their journey. After saving up, they were able to buy a van, and they were ready to begin the alterations.
In order to help with climate control in the van that they would be sleeping in and living in for the next six months, they got the van professionally foam sprayed. Once that was completed, they lined the inside of the van with panels of plywood. This was a great choice for them as it gave them a great look and feel to the van, without taking much of the living space at all.
Court was then ready to install the cabinets, and he spent hours and hours on a computer program to get the dimensions right. After he figured out what would work best, the building crew got to work on the cabinets. And they made sure that the living room and storage space could quickly be turned into a bedroom with the quick and easy addition of a mattress.
They even included a kitchen in the van which had an oven, a range, a sink and more. While some motorhomes have things like this on the outside, they decided to put them on the inside to save them from possible damage and to offer better climate control.
And with a few more decorative additions like cushions and other decorative hardware, this van was ready to hit the highway. There is no doubt that this van will be turning heads wherever the couple goes. Not only is it very cool it likely saved them thousands and thousands of dollars they would have spent if they bought a new motorhome or trailer.
