Long-suffering fans of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm finally know when they’ll have new episodes of the beloved Larry David sitcom.
The series’ ninth season will premiere on October 1. The episode will mark the first new installment of Curb since the eighth season ended in 2011. The official announcement — which comes after months of speculation — was announced via an HBO Youtube video earlier this week.
The video shows the always curmudgeonly David wearing a Roman-inspired costume being spun on a pillar, and sarcastically demanding to “go around again” while on-screen text reads “He left. He did nothing. He returned.”
Despite the clip’s humor, David actually kept quite busy during the sabbatical. He starred in a film, a well-received Broadway show, and appearing as presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Saturday Night Live.
Few other details are confirmed about the season’s content or length thus far, though it’s believed that Curb Your Enthusiasm veterans Jeff Garlin, JB Smoove, and Susie Essman will be returning.
