One of the most interesting mysteries about pets is why so many of them don’t seem to notice their reflection whenever they see it in a mirror or window. Apparently, dogs and cats simply don’t have the cognitive ability to recognize a reflection as their own. According to VetStreet.com, the only group of animals with this type of cognitive ability only includes “higher primates, dolphins, orcas, elephants, and, surprisingly, European magpies.” That is why we find this video of Kane the dog so hilarious!
When Kane is confronted with what looks like another dog, he responds in a reasonable way and displays some intimidation tactics to establish his dominance. What seems to surprise him is that the other dog is giving the same moves right back to him!
Even though most dogs don’t have the ability to perceive things beyond physical sight and sound, this video shows that some dogs are much smarter than others. Does your animal react to their reflection too?
Check out the video below, and SHARE with all your friends who think their animals are just as smart as Kane!
