This Disabled Child Finds Beautiful Inspiration From an Injured Marine
In life, we all have obstacles to get over. For some, it can be at work and for others, it could be our personal lives. But these problems seem minuscule compared to some of the obstacles that people out there have to overcome in life. These people can be the source of a ton of inspiration for us and show us to never give up, no matter how dire your situation may be.
One person that knows all about overcoming obstacles is 10-year old Diego. Diego has been living without a right leg and only has two fingers on his right hand. Right from birth, he and his family knew his life would not all be peaches and cream and challenges awaited them.
But they were not going to give up and dwell on this fact, far from it. While yes, there have been challenges in his life, Diego has shown to the world just what you can accomplish if you set your mind to it, no matter what disadvantages you may have in life.
The condition Diego was born with amniotic band syndrome and this forced him to have his leg amputated. But instead of having a pity party, Diego has learned to live with his situation. Right from the time he was a toddler, Diego has always wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and be an Army officer.
Now, while this will likely never happen, this hasn’t stopped Diego and his father, which has garnered them a fair bit of fame as their story is a source of a ton of inspiration. But Diego hasn’t used this fame for self-promotion, in fact, quite the opposite.
He has started a non-profit organization with the goal of increasing awareness about injured veterans and children with disabilities. Diego travels all around to visit injured veterans and disabled children to help bring a little joy in their lives and help them find inner strength.
And while this child’s emotional and mental strength is off the charts, he needs a bit of help on the physical side, and that is where retired Marine Staff Sergeant Jose Luis Sanchez comes into the picture. Diego has called Sanchez his personal hero and Sanchez is helping Diego to train and be as strong as he can be.
Like Diego, Sanchez suffered an injury that forced him to remove his leg, and just like Diego, he has never let that slow him down. While Diego has been an inspiration to hundreds of people, even he needs inspiration, which he gets from Sanchez.
And remember, this little boy is only 10 years old. The sky is the limit in terms of what he can do and he will never let his physical ailments bring him down. Not only is is truly amazing that a 10-year-old boy wants to do so much for others, but you know how much harder he has had to work than most to get here.
I for one and truly excited to see what the future holds for Diego. One thing is for sure, no matter what obstacles he finds in his way, he will find a way to overcome them.
