Calvin Harris feels ‘free’
Calvin Harris is now "free" following his split from Taylor Swift.
The ‘Feel So Close’ hitmaker – who split from the ‘Shake It Off’ singer around two weeks ago – claims his ex-girlfriend was able to "control the media".
When a fan on Instagram told Calvin he would have been criticised by Taylor’s fanbase if he shared his views on the split, he said: "Taylor controlled the media and this situation, I had no idea what was going on. So that kind of makes it a lot worse from my perspective."
When another user accused Calvin of being jealous, he simply replied: "not jealous sir, FREE. (sic)"
The 32-year-old star opted to refollow Taylor, 26, on the social media site and when asked why he did, he told them: "I cared too much and then I didn’t care at all. I am a real person remember."
Meanwhile, a source previously claimed Calvin was "surprised" Taylor moved on so fast with Tom Hiddleston.
They said: "Calvin was surprised to see the photos and that she had moved on so quickly. That was fast! It was surprising to him but he just wants to move on. He’s a really good guy.
"Tom checks off a lot of boxes for Taylor. He’s hot, smart, talented, British, blond, everything she’s into. What’s not to like? She’s going with it and why shouldn’t she? They have been bonding over the industry, their childhoods, where they are from. It’s the getting-to-know-you phase. Taylor is just happy to have the time to meet someone new and move on from Calvin."
But Taylor knew her split from Calvin was "for the best".
An insider shared: "Taylor is not sad anymore about the breakup. She knows it was for the best. They are not on bad terms. They have communicated since the breakup, but getting back together is something that’s not in the cards for either of them. Taylor is hanging out with her friends and keeping busy. She has some plans to travel this summer. Taylor has also been writing new music."
