Alec Baldwin’s smart children
Alec and Hilaria Baldwin claim their daughter could speak when she was just five months old.
The couple – who are expecting their third child together – have found 11-month-old son Rafael is not as advanced with his linguistic skills as two-year-old Carmen, but both tots are equally opinionated.
Hilaria said: "Our daughter started talking at five months. Compared to her, [Rafael] doesn’t talk as much. His words are ‘Mama,’ ‘Dada.’
"We have very opinionated children. Rafael is very opinionated, too, but he only has five words. My kids are very smart, they say ‘Mama’ first. And ‘no,’ — he’s very good at ‘no.’ "
Alec – who also has 20-year-old Ireland with ex-wife Kim Basinger – added: " ‘Come, come.’ "
The 58-year-old actor thinks his daughter has very "sophisticated" conversational skills.
He told People magazine: "Carmen is very verbal. Just interesting phrases. This morning, I said, ‘Would you like to sit down and read a book with me?’ And she said, ‘Of course.’ She’s very sophisticated."
Meanwhile, Rafael is already exerting his independence.
Alec said: "Our son is a moment away from walking. He’s tough, a tank. But happy — he’s a very happy child."
Hilaria added: "He’s almost walking, but he’s very interested in crawling because he likes his independence. He wants to smash everything."
The 32-year-old Spanish yoga instructor recently revealed she is often mistaken for her children’s nanny because they are fair-haired.
Alongside a picture of Carmen attempting a yoga pose, Hilaria wrote on Instagram: "With two blonde hair, blue eyed children, people at the park always ask me if I am a nanny. They hear me speaking to my children in Spanish and I have been offered so many jobs because everyone wants to teach their children a foreign language these days.
"I always laugh it off and tell them that if I were not so busy with my 2 almost 3 babies, I’d love to come work for them!
"So here is proof that this is my little baby….climbing on tables and doing crazy yoga in all sorts of outfits…yup, this one is all mine. Always laugh with the world #366daysoflivingclearly #HilariaLCM (sic)"
