These little things can be made out of almost anything, even plastic bottles. I know you have some of those laying around! So read on and find out how a DIY crafter named Barry Neeson turned an ordinary jar into a new and amazing addition to his garden.

After getting the idea that his garden needed a little fairy house, he decided that he would make it himself instead of buying one. In order to do this, he needed to think about what to make it out of, how to design it and how it would look. His mind was racing with ideas and he was finally able to nail down an idea.

Once he had his idea, it was time to get the supplies. And the supply list for his creation was extremely easy to find and would turn out to be much cheaper than buying his own fairy house, with the added bonus that his would be one of a kind.

His supply list included things like a jar, some clay, some paint and a solar powered lid. He began his craft by painting the solar powered lid a very vibrant red to serve as the roof of his fairy house. Next, Neeson began to craft the actual house. He did this by taking clay and molding it over the mason jar.

While he mainly used his hands for this part, he needed to use a sculpting knife to make smaller and more detailed additions such as a door and a small window so the light on the solar powered lid could shine out into the world. The, using different colors of clay, he began to bring the fairy house to life.

He added a great looking door, some stonework and even some plants and vines that made it look straight out of a fairytale. After adding some details to the lid to make it look like a mushroom and basking the jar a bit to make the clay harden, his project was done.

And just like that, he had a one of a kind fairy house decoration for almost no money. But if you don’t have a garden, this little light decoration could even be brought inside and used as an interior decoration.
