9 year old makes history as youngest author
The typical nine year old may play soccer or take a dance or gymnastics class. It is pretty unusual, and in this case historic, when a nine year old writes and publishes her very own book. According to Huffpost Good News, Anaya Lee Willabus, 9, published her first book The Day Mohan Found His Confidence in May 2015 when she was only 8 years old. This achievement makes her the youngest person in the United States to publish a chapter book.
In an interview with PIX11, she says she is pretty proud of her accomplishment. “It’s just so inspirational, not only for me but for younger kids and that’s good.”
Willabus’s novel focuses on a young boy as he overcomes obstacles at home and school. Essentially, he learns he can do anything with the help and support of family and friends.
When asked about her future goals and plans, Willabus stated she wants to make a positive impact on the world by becoming a teacher and continuing her career as an author. Watch the video below for the full story!!!
