This Phone Thief Just Got The Surprise of his Life
Being a thief is not something anyone should ever want to be. But if you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of being one, I would imagine one of the most important things to do is to “know your victims”. Obviously, the robber I will be talking about in this article wasn’t very good at that and you will soon see why.
Let me set the scene for you. It was a gorgeous day at Ralambshov park in Sweden and Mikaela Kellner was sunbathing and enjoying the fantastic weather with some friends when a random man approached them. The encounter started off fairly normal as the man was going down the beach apparently selling magazines for the homeless.
However, Kellner and her friends began to get a little suspicious once the man became a bit more aggressive, wouldn’t take no for an answer and “conveniently” placed his magazines over their valuables, which he was obviously hoping no one would notice. The man eventually left without issue, but then Kellner’s friend noticed something.
Within seconds of the man leaving, Kellner’s friend noticed and was shocked to see that her cell phone was missing, with the man the likely culprit behind it. Seeing this, Kellner jumped into action and chased the man down. She claims she only had to chase him for 15 meters before being right behind the man. Now, in the mind of the pickpocketer, he probably thought “pfft, what is she going to do?”.
Well, what she did was rugby tackle the man to the ground and hold him there, with his struggles doing absolutely nothing, which obviously must have been extremely shocking and surprising to him. You may be wondering how a random lady in a bikini can hold down a man who’s adrenaline was surely through the roof after a short chase and just committing a crime? Well, the answer is that Mikaela Kellner is not just your average beach-goer, far from it.
In fact, Kellner is actually a police officer in Sweden and has been for over a decade. In addition to this, she is also a power lifter and a CrossFit athlete who also appears on the “Swedish Ninja Warrior” TV show. So what does all of this mean? It means she is NOT someone you want to mess with, no matter how tough you think you are.
So, back to the story, the would-be robber likely realized very quickly his struggles would do nothing, and he had no choice but to continue to be held down until some on-duty officers came and arrested him. There was a photo captured of this arrest has gone completely viral, getting thousands and thousands of shares on social media.
The lesson to take out of this ordeal is to not be a bad person and rob others (as it won’t work out well for you) but if you do, you probably shouldn’t rob the friend of a powerlifting police officer who can also call herself a Ninja Warrior.
