It Looks Like A Simple Box From The Outside, But Wait Until You Step Inside
Over the past few years, the topic of so-called “tiny homes” – made out of old shipping containers or custom-built trailers – has started to become more popular. While some may have seen pictures of different styles of tiny homes and may even be intrigued by the idea, many might assume that it’s just not realistic to live in such a small, cramped space.
It would be fair to think that there are just too many things that a person would have to sacrifice in order to make such a tiny living space possible, such as style and versatility.
Surely, it would be challenging just to live a somewhat regular life from day to day, let alone do things like having a dinner for eight people, right?
The designers and architects at New Frontier Tiny Homes are doing their best to change people’s minds on the subject of tiny homes. Their mission is to provide excellently designed, versatile, high quality housing that is affordable and attainable for everyone. This is immediately apparent in the first version of their tiny house, the Alpha.
Although it is still definitely a tiny home, which is evident from the company’s name, it will definitely give you a new perspective on what’s possible with a small living space. Yes, this mean that you might just be able to have a dinner for eight people after all.
When you look at the tiny home from the outside, it definitely looks like a simple box, with a few design flourishes that make it a bit fancier. However, just looking at it from the outside, you might not yet be fully convinced of the versatility and stylishness of this tiny home.
The first thing that is noticeable about the home are the large sliding glass panes on the front of the structure that allow you to see through the home and help to give it the illusion of being bigger than it really is.
On the other side of the home is a fold-down deck that really opens things up, giving you a whole extra room worth of space. As soon as the weather gets a bit cooler or you want some extra privacy, the deck folds up and becomes a wall again.
To make the home seem bigger without exposing it to the outside elements, you can leave the deck down and pull down a pane of glass, similar to a garage door, to give you extra light and the illusion of more space.
Once you’re inside the tiny home, you can’t help but notice how attractively stylish it really is. From the custom oak library ladder that leads up to the bedroom loft to the peacock gold granite countertops that adorn the kitchen, the finishing touches in this home really have a premium quality to them.
The bedroom itself features a king-size bed in a loft setting, giving a couple plenty of space to stretch out when they sleep. Below the bedroom is the bathroom, which is surprisingly fully loaded, with a toilet (thankfully), a washing machine, and even a full size bath tub.
On the other side of the home is a full kitchen, which features a beautiful blend of modern and rustic styles, with the granite countertops mentioned before alongside beautiful wood and clean white appliances.
But what about that dinner party for eight? Cleverly hidden away under the step that leads into the kitchen is a table that slides out and, when rearranged, forms a dining table big enough for eight people.
Yes, the craftsmen at New Frontier Tiny Homes have really done their part to demonstrate that just because a home is tiny, doesn’t mean it’s not also versatile, functional, and stylish.
