With summer rapidly coming to a close and fall upon us, get ready for pumpkins to take over. Whether it is pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice, pumpkin decorations and more, this large and orange fruit is about to be everywhere. And while it is often featured in our food and on our front step come Halloween night, the pumpkin can also be a fun and crafty DIY project.
And while a pumpkin is a fairly unique-looking thing to craft, it is one of the most common DIY projects and crafts. But it never ceases to amaze me what people decided to use as the base or inspiration for these pumpkin crafts. While many traditionally have crafted an actual pumpkin into something, in recent years, we are seeing more and more people craft other items into pumpkins, which make for some amazing artwork.
However, of all the amazing pumpkin creations out there we have seen, none are quite like the one created by Vicki Rogers. Rogers wanted to create the perfect fall decoration and to do so, she went to her roof and took down her old wind turbine. Almost none of us would think to use a wind turbine for a fall craft, let alone one that would become a pumpkin. However, as you will soon see, it was actually easier to do than first expected. She would only a need a few small supplies to turn her old wind turbine into a new and beautiful pumpkin craft that would surely wow all of her guests.
Her first step was to actually get up on her roof and remove the wind turbine herself. And with the turbine removed from the roof, it is almost a little bit shocking to notice that the turbine itself actually does indeed resemble a pumpkin a little bit. The shape of it and even the grooves are all very pumpkin-like. So all that Vicki needed to transform this wind turbine was some color, creativity, and imagination.
After removing all the extra hardware from them, she had to make a hole in the roof of the turbine. After that, she decided to paint them a very season autumn brown color and highlighted that color with very cool and stylish metallic colors.
But every pumpkin needs a stem, so Vicki elected to use a few different supplies such as craft leaves, sticks, and wired jute to create the stem. And once the stem is added, these look like a very cool and rustic pumpkin. These crafts would make a perfect addition to anywhere you need some fall decoration such as the house, the backyard, a centerpiece for your table, and even on your front step. And if you want to add a few autumn leaves to the pumpkin, it only adds to the beauty.
This is a great example of the fact that many of us have a number of different things just laying around our house and our yard that with a little bit of creativity, can be turned into something amazing, just like Rogers created here.
